It's important that proper hydration is crucial for maintaining alertness, staying energetic, and for our bodies wellbeing. Much like calorie intake, the amount of water every person needs depends on a few different factors (eg. medications, heat, humidity, sweating, etc). Check out below for more info:
How much water should I drink based on my weight?
Take your weight (in pounds) and divide it by 2.2
Multiply that number depending on your age:If you're younger than 30, then multiply 40. If you're between 30-55, then multiply by 35.If you're older than 55, then multiply by 30.
Divide that sum by 28.3
You will then find your total for how many ounce of water you should drink each day. Divide total by 8 to see in cups.
How much water should I drink based on my activity level?
For every 45-60 minutes of exercise you do, you'll need to drink a minimum of 40 ounces of water. So if you require 80 ounces by your weight, you will need to drink 120 ounces of water.
